FATE FOUNDATION MARKS 26 YEARS OF BUILDING NIGERIA’S ENTREPRENEURIAL ECOSYSTEM

Lagos-Nigeria

FATE Foundation, on the 21st of April 2026, announced its 26th anniversary, celebrating over two and a half decades of empowering Nigerian entrepreneurs to start, grow, and scale sustainable businesses.

In 26 years, FATE Foundation has been at the forefront of shaping the future of enterprise in Nigeria. Through its various programs, the Foundation has graduated 8,945 entrepreneurs from its flagship full-course programmes, reached 247,332 entrepreneurs through short courses, self-paced learning, and digital tools, and extended its impact and reach to over 1.7 million people through our podcasts and online platforms. These numbers span the 36 states in Nigeria, including the FCT, as well as Kenya, South Africa, the UK, and the United States. Its alumni continue to create jobs, strengthen value chains, and contribute significantly to Nigeria’s MSME sector.

Ayomide Akindolie-Igwe, Executive Director, FATE Foundation, said, “For 26 years, FATE Foundation has stayed true to its mission of harnessing the entrepreneurial spirit of Nigerians, to catalyse job creation and economic growth. As we mark this anniversary, we are celebrating our legacy and reaffirming the core mission that has defined our impact since inception. Looking ahead, we remain committed to deepening our support for entrepreneurs by expanding digital inclusion, broadening financial access for women and youth, and continuing to equip Nigerian businesses to start, grow, and scale sustainably in both local and global markets.

We are deeply grateful to our Board, partners, volunteers, and every FATE entrepreneur. Your unwavering partnership is the foundation of our success. And to our team at FATE, past and present – thank you. This celebration, and all our accomplishments, would not be possible without your passion and tireless dedication.”

Over the years, FATE Foundation has pioneered several initiatives that have become cornerstones of Nigeria’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Bambo Adebowale, Dean and Director, The FATE School, added, At the FATE School, we witness the power of entrepreneurship every day — ideas turning into businesses, and businesses into livelihoods. Through our programmes, we don’t just train entrepreneurs; we catalyse growth, equipping them with the tools, networks, and confidence to build ventures that create real economic value.

8,945 graduates over 26 years speaks to our reach, but our true impact lives in the businesses still standing, the jobs sustained, and the markets transformed. Our commitment is clear — practical, relevant support that meets entrepreneurs where they are and equips them to thrive in a changing economy.”

As FATE Foundation enters its 27th year, it remains committed to building an inclusive, cohesive, and sustainable ecosystem. The focus going forward will be on expanding digital access for entrepreneurs, bridging the finance gap through partnerships, job creation, and using data-driven advocacy to create a more enabling business environment.
