FATE Philanthropy Coalition for COVID-19 (FPCC) Support Fund Closeout Report

Following the first incidence of the novel corona virus (COVID-19) in Nigeria, the FATE Philanthropy a unit of FATE Foundation in line with its health thematic area, established the FPCC Support Fund (“The Fund”) on the 21st of March, 2020 to support national and subnational government efforts to strengthen public health infrastructure in anticipation of further strains while also capacitating front-line personnel with required tools, devices and equipment to provide requisite care to suspected or confirmed COVID-19 patients.

With an initial target of NGN250,000,000 (Two Hundred and Fifty Million naira), the Fund raised cash and in-kind donation valued at NGN455,029,262 (Four Hundred and Fifty-Five Million, Twenty-Nine Thousand, Two Hundred and Sixty-Two naira) from individual and corporate donors. Between March 2020 and March 2021, the Fund supported three (3) states and four (4) public health institutions to set up COVID-19 Isolation centres, conduct free testing to the public, provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) and fund critical innovation. Having been fully utilised, the Fund is now closed.

We sincerely appreciate all the individuals and organisations who supported and contributed to the Fund in various ways. In line with our commitment to be transparent and accountable, we have a detailed report downloadable on the FPCC Support Fund webpage (www.fatefoundation.org/fpcc) outlining all donations received, fund beneficiaries and lessons learnt from the process.
